Paul Distasio made a brilliant debut to Guilford Football with some incredible running, racking up 115 yards on the ground behind Adam Gelo and Hunter Martins.
YOUTH DIVISION:
Youth Green played a hard fought and tough game against East Haven A. In their first game they did their best and played with heart! The result was a 6-0 loss. The offense behind quarterback Frank Ranfone was lead by a seasoned offensive line including Dan Mcloskey, Nick Nero, Tony DiNitto and Matt Eckman who made fine blocks for the backs. The defense was lead by John Altieri whose spirited play kept Guilford in the game. Calvin Hoban was also a surprise standout for the aggressive Guilford defense.

Youth White's Tony Pensa ran the ball several times to lead Guilford in rushing yards. Billy Conover led the defense and made numerous outstanding tackles helping to hold back the Amity onslaught which consisted of 2 sweeps for touchdowns in the first quarter as well as a punt return and only one td in the second half. Keegan Dostie and Alex Ullrich combined for numerous carries to make up the remainder of the Guilford offense. Guilford made a good first showing with only 5 returning players and has great expectations with their starting QB returning for the next game against North Branford.
