SENIOR DIVISION:
Senior White: Indicative of the 26 - 8 score, Guilford Senior White fought a hard battle game with Madison Seniors B. Madison opening drive to start the game was stopped by a Mike Knapp interception, this set the tone for a defensive struggle through out the first half. Outstanding performance By Ryan Sutowki on offense with a 52 yard run for Guilford's only score, (Mike Knapp - PAT) and 20 tackles on defense to keep Madison ground game in check. complete team effort on both sides of the ball for Guilford Seniors this past Sunday.
JUNIOR DIVISION:
Junior Green: In a hard fought war between two closely matched rivals, penalties proved to be the difference in a Junior Green 7-8 loss to North Branford B. It was the kind of game that keeps true football fans on the edges of their seats wondering which way it will go with no clear advantage on either side. North Branford scored first after a long drive, pounding the ball down the field behind a solid line and good hard running and the PAT split the uprights for the 8-0 Lead. Guilford was able to move the ball effectively both on the ground and in the air. Distasio had another good day running and scored the lone Guilford TD late in the second quarter and Pat Cantrell caught a well placed pass from Nelson to bring Green up to 7. Both teams played solid defensive ball and traded possessions for the remainder of the game. Guilford had one last chance to bring victory home with under three minutes to go on the North Branford 18 but Nelson's perfectly placed pass to Zergiebel in the end zone was called back. North Branford then took over on downs and was able to run the clock out for the win.
YOUTH DIVISION:
Youth Green: Guilford Youth Green took a hard loss at Strong Field Sunday. They never quit. The spirit of the team showed as they took control of the 4th quarter pounding the ball up the middle with the combination of Nick Nero, Daniel McCloskey and Matt Murchinson-Russo. Long runs by Jake Moscarelli and John Altieri behind the blocking of Derek Vanderbovenkamp, Nate Tepley, Thomas Stokes, Matt Eckman, Tony Dinitto, Calvin Hoban and Nick Russello fueled the offense.

Youth White: Sunday, the youth white team faced the Madison C team. Throughout the game Guilford managed some first downs through the running of Tony Pensa, Alex Ullrich, Nash Singleton, & Rob Heller. The Guilford defense held Madison scoreless through the half with outstanding plays by Evan “Little E” Hilgert, Connor “Corn Fed” Peters, Ben “Diesel” Currier, John Suchy, Colin Rook, Carmen Ciardello, & Cody Cox. Both teams were scoreless at the half. In the 3rd quarter after a failed 4th down conversion by Guilford, Madison managed a touchdown on a QB bootleg. The Guilford Tribe Offense then managed a few yards through the running of James “Crazy Legs” Bright. The highlights of the 2nd half for Guilford came in the4th quarter with time running out. Rob Heller threw a 30 yard pass to Keegan Dostie who almost escaped a Madison tackler. The last play of the game, an obstinate Tony Pensa ran the ball about 12 yards breaking at least 5 tackles. Unfortunately for Guilford, time ran out before they could break into the end zone. Guilford now has Madison B team in their crosshairs which they will face at Long Hill Field, Sunday September 30th.
